STOP PRESS

RETRACTION
It has come to our attention that comments published in Issue 1 of the Better Choices Newsletter (April 2007) may have mislead readers about Australian government (State or Federal) policy towards the use of pain relief when mulesing.

Bayer Australia Limited wishes to make clear that it does not represent any government nor speak for them.
The use of pain relief when mulesing remains the choice of the individual.

21/07/2008
Agriculture's efforts to counter PETA's attacks are lumbering and ineffective. As the mulesing issue has highlighted, by the time an agricultural organisation has brought its guns to bear and piled the PR munitions onto a hot issue, PETA has skipped off and is attacking from another place.
